Holidays
Full details about your holiday entitlement are in your employment contract. These are the essentials:
- All staff, wherever you are based, are entitled to a total of 33 days holiday per holiday year (1st Jan - 31st Dec).
- For those in England and Wales, 8 of these days are public holidays and are automatically deducted from your allowance. This leaves you with 25 days holiday to book throughout the year.
- For those in the rest of the world, public holidays are not automatically booked off. You must book public holidays off yourself, or you can choose not to, in accordance with your preferences and needs.
- We have chosen this system to ensure that all staff globally receive the same amount of holiday. The English allowance is equal to the best we have seen.
- We offer an extra day of holiday to anyone who works for us for more than three years i.e. an extra day of holiday in years four, five, six, seven and eight, up to a maximum of 38 days holiday entitlement (inclusive of 8 English and Welsh public holidays).
- If you have to work on a bank or public holiday, you’ll get the time off in lieu.
- The company operates during Christmas so you’ll need to save some of your entitlement if you wish to take time off then.
- Where religious festivals aren’t included in public holidays, speak to your manager and we’ll try to accommodate you.
- Put your holiday request in with as much notice as possible to your line manager.
- Typically, no more than ten working days’ holidays can be taken in any one time – although longer periods might be considered, so please speak to your manager about your plans.
